Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Bust In Geary County

GEARY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) --A Junction City man is facing a number of drug charges after a traffic stop and subsequent search of his home.

On Monday, July 9, 2012 at about 3 PM, members of the Geary County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 400 block of East Chestnut Street in Junction City. A subsequent arrest of the passenger led to the seizure of marijuana, believed to be for sale, and miscellaneous currency.

Deputies then obtained a search warrant for the address listed below and an additional amount of marijuana, a small amount of suspected cocaine and miscellaneous items of drug paraphernalia were seized.

The following subject was arrested:

Ricardo Jimenez, 25, of 308 South Washington Street, Junction City, Kansas, on charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession of A Narcotic Drug, Felony and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, No Kansas Drug Tax Stamp, Acquisition of Drug Proceeds and Driving with a Revoked Driver’s License.

Seized were: approximately 25 ounces of marijuana, with a suspected street value of $7500, one gram of suspected cocaine and $851 U.S. Currency.
