(WIBW) - Lawrence Police arrested two suspects Monday night in connected with a weekend shooting that left two people injured.
Lawrence Police say officers arrested a 20-year-old Topekan on two counts of attempted first degree murder. A 29-year-old Topeka resident also was arrested on a charge of domestic battery which took place during to the incident.
Both suspects were taken into custody in Shawnee County and booked into the Douglas County Jail. Police did not release their names Monday night.
The charges stem from an incident early Sunday in Lawrence. Police were called to a disturbance at Club Magic on 24th Street when they heard gunshots a few blocks north. Officers arrived at that scene to find a vehicle in the McDonald's parking lot whose driver had been shot.
Officers also received a call of gunshots in the 800 block of Greever Terrace, where they found a man who'd been shot twice.
Police identified the victims as 33-year-old Tommy Andrews and 27-year-old Michael Holford. Police say both were shot on Greever Terrace, and one victim attempted to drive back to the bar following the shooting.
Both men remained hospitalized Monday in Kansas City.
