TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- At 4:46 p.m. Sunday (8/5) officers of the Topeka Police Department were dispatched to a report of a drive-by shooting that had just occurred at the Kwik Shop at 746 NE Wabash in Oakland.

On arrival officers found that the business, two cars on the lot and a Redbox video kiosk had been struck by gunfire. Both of the cars were disabled by the gunshots and had to be towed from the scene.

Police say it appears that no persons were struck. A man who may have been the intended target of this shooting was seen leaving the area, and a possible suspect vehicle was reported to officers as being seen leaving the area.

Due to the time of day and the location next to Sardou Ave. Officials believe that there are likely witnesses to this incident who have not yet spoken to the police.

Anyone with information on this incident or who may have witnesses it is asked to call the Topeka Police Department at 368-9551
