Topeka Man Pleads Guilty In String Of Violent Holdups

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka man pleaded guilty Monday to more than three dozen counts of rape, kidnapping, assault and armed robbery.

Arthur Crain was convicted on 40 counts stemming from a string of holdups from July 12th to August 24th of 2012. As part of a plea agreement, the Shawnee Co. District Attorney's Office says Crain could face at least 21 years in prison.

Sentencing is set for May 28th.

Crain's convictions were as follows:
Aggravated assault: 15 counts
Aggravated robbery: 14 counts
Aggravated sexual battery: 3 counts
Rape: 2 counts
Aggravated criminal sodomy: 1 count
Kidnapping: 1 count
Battery: 1 count
Criminal damage: 1 count
Aggravated burglary: 1 count
Theft less than $1000: 1 count
