BURLINGTON, Kan. (WIBW) A Topeka man will spend almost two years in prison for attacking a Burlington teenager.

Eddie Smith Jr, 40, was sentenced to 21 months in prison for the October incident.

Smith was convicted in December of one count of aggravated battery.

Coffey County attorney Doug Witteman said officers found Smith outside, covered in blood when they arrived on the scene.

Witteman said the investigation indicated Smith was threatening his girlfriend, when her teenage son intervened and Smith attacked the boy.
