Three Kansas Teens Arrested After Alleged Car Burglary Spree

Jackson County, Kan. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department believes they have finally put an end to a string of car burglaries in two counties.

Sheriff Tim Morse says on Saturday three individual suspects were arrested in connection with the crimes.

18 year old Topekan Winston Roberts and 19 year old Topekan Tanner Stirton were both booked into Jackson County Jail on 6 counts of burglary, 1 count of attempted burglary, 7 counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, 3 counts of felony theft and 4 misdemeanor counts of theft.

The third taken into custody was a juvenile.

The three allegedly were involved in a spree of burglaries including two vehicle burglaries in Jackson County on November 26th, a Shawnee County vehicle burglary on January 19th, and three more in Jackson county on January 24th.

Further charges from neighboring counties can be expected. The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, Horton Police Department and the Topeka Police Department also provided assistance in the investigation.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office urges all residents to make sure firearms, vehicles, outbuildings and homes are secured. Don’t delay in reporting suspicious activity. Early reporting of suspicious activity can help minimize the extent of damage burglars cause to victims.
