TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A teenager was walking with a friend late at night became the victim of a robbery and shooting.
Described only as a juvenile male, Topeka Police officers found the victim in the area of 29th Street and Moundview when they responded to a report of gunshots. The victim's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The victim told officers he was walking in the area with a friend when he was shot by unknown male suspects. Police did not immediately say how many suspects or give a description.
Police say the victim told them the suspects robbed him of his tennis shoes during the incident, then left in a maroon car. The victim couldn't describe its make or model.
