TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Topeka teenager will stand trial as an adult for the sexual assault of a five year old.
Now 18-year-old Al'ryon J. Perkins was 17 in November 2010, when police say he broke into a southeast Topeka home, stole a cash box, and carried a five year old girl out to the yard, where they say he raped her.
Perkins appeared in Shawnee County Court for his preliminary hearing on Thursday (12/1).
Judge Mark Braun ruled there is sufficient evidence for Perkins to go to trial on charges of rape and criminal sodomy of a child younger than 14, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, and two counts of aggravated burglary.
His trial starts February 27th.
