TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka Police say a man officers had to tase is receiving medical evaluation.
Neighbors called officers around 8 pm Sunday to SW 12th and Wayne, where they say a man was causing a disturbance.
Lt. Ron Gish says the man appeared under the influence of something and was combative with officers, exhibiting signs of what's termed "excited delirium." Gish says officers used defensive action, including a taser, to subdue the man and take him to the hospital for evaluation.
Crime scene tape was put up around the area while officers investigated and made reports, which Gish says is standard procedure. He says the subject did not appear injured, but the evaluation also is standard procedure.
