TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The state's official anti-human trafficking advisory board met for the first time Friday.

The Kansas Attorney General's human trafficking board was organized in 2010. A law passed earlier this year officially recognizes the group. Their Friday agenda included discussing implementation of new human trafficking laws.

AG Derek Schmidt says the board's guidance will be critical to the state's efforts to combat human trafficking and support trafficking victims.

Representatives of the AG's office, law enforcement and social service organizations make up the board.
