TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Shawnee County authorities are searching for a driver who ran off following a chase through southwest Topeka.
The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office says a deputy tried pulling over a car just after 5 pm Tuesday for a traffic violation near SW 21st and Western.
They say the driver led the deputy on a seven-minute pursuit through various streets, ending when he hit a clothesline post in a backyard in the 3300 block of SW Brendan. Authorities say the driver then got out and fled.
The suspect is described as a white man wearing a red t-shirt and dark shorts. Anyone who has information should contact the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office at 785-368-2200.
