TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Sentencing is set for a woman charged with involuntary manslaughter following a 2006 accident.
Kristen Brownlee pleaded no contest to one count of involuntary manslaughter in court Thursday.
The court dismissed three other charges Thursday as well, including one count of involuntary manslaughter in the commission of a DUI, one count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and one count of making a false writing.
Brownlee was heading eastbound on SW 29th street, drifted into the westbound lane and hit a pick-up truck head-on in November of 2006.
Ma Del Socorro Balderas, a passenger in the truck, was killed.
Sentencing is set for August 2nd.
