RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County Police are releasing new details on their investigation into a toddler's injuries.
The child was taken to the hospital with serious burns on her feet.
Officers on Fort Riley contacted police in Riley County on Sunday, November 11, 2012 after a 2-year-old girl from Ogden was brought into the emergency room at Irwin Army Community Hospital on post.
At first, officials thought that the burns on the child's feet could have been the result of her being scalded by hot water at her home in Ogden.
She was later transported to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for treatment.
On Tuesday, Captain Kurt Moldrup, an RCPD administrator, revealed that the incident was found to be accidental and that the toddler was not abused or neglected.
