TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A former Topeka convenience store manager has had charges in an assault case dropped for a second time.
Anthony Talbert was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated intimidation of a witness, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, criminal threat and criminal restraint for a November 2011 home invasion. A woman was beaten and burned with a knife during the incident.
Prosecutors filed a notice of dismissal Wednesday, but could file the case again.
Talbert was a manager of Mo's Express convenience store in Hudson Crossing. The store's managing partner, Monroe Lockhart, and another man, Jacob Barnett, are both serving prison time for the case.
