Police Search For 3 People Seen Near Where Quad Killing Victim Found

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka police are trying to track down a child who was riding a bicycle and two people seen near a maroon Crown Victoria. They were picked up by cameras near the where Carla Avery was found shot in the head earlier this month.

On Friday, they released this photo of the child, who they say was riding behind the Family Dollar and Discount Smokes on 21st/22nd Park shortly before 4:00 p.m. on December 1st.

They said he went between the two stores, then behind the Family Dollar before looping around toward the Discount Smokes again.

They are also looking for a motorcycle rider and pedestrian spotted near the intersection where a maroon 1995 Ford Crown Victoria ran a stop sign. They were seen at the intersection of 21st and Buchanan shortly before 4:00 p.m. also.

Anyone with information about any of them is asked to call police at 368-9400.

On Thursday, anyone who left a tip on the killings to use their confidential number to check the website and see if there is a message from Crime Stoppers.

Any information related to the homicides could lead to reward of up to $8,000 reward. Anyone who knows something is asked to call 785-234-0007 or submit a tip online at www.topekacrimestoppers.com. You can also text a top to 274637 (CRIMES), then type "Top Tip" at the start of the message.
