Owner Of Frozen Yogurt Shop Reports $26K Theft

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Riley County Police Department has launched an investigation into a series of thefts that spanned six months at a Manhattan business. Thousands of dollars have turned up missing and the owner believes one of his employees could be responsible.

On Tuesday, September 4, 2012, John Shelton, the owner of Orange Leaf located in the Manhattan Marketplace Shopping Center off of Tuttle Creek Boulevard in Manhattan, reported to police that between January 1, 2012 and June 11, 2012, multiple incidents of theft have been taking place at his business.

According to Shelton, internal records show that $26,905 in cash is unaccounted for and he suspects an ongoing internal theft.

A police investigation is underway, a department spokesman said.
