Man Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Brother No Stranger To Authorities
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Topeka man who's no stranger to the law is accused of stabbing his younger brother to death Wednesday morning.
Topeka Police were called to a domestic dispute around 3:30 am at a trailer park in the 1900 block of SE Adams. Officers found 41-year-old Scottie Taylor suffering stab wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died a short time later.
Police found his brother, 50-year-old Curtis Small, a few blocks from the crime scene. He's being held on a second degree murder charge.
Corrections records show Small was paroled in March 2011 for convictions of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and criminal possession of a firearm.
He also has convictions for drug possession and a 1995 aggravated escape from custody, where he and convicted triple-murderer Bobby Jackson walked out an unlocked door at the Shawnee County Jail. They were caught five days later.
