Fort Riley Soldier Hurt In Junction City Shooting

JUNCTION CITY, Kan (WIBW)-- Authorities in Junction City are investigating a shooting that injured one person Monday night.

Steven C. Bennett, a Fort Riley soldier was injured in a shooting Monday night at a townhouse located at 11 Fuller Ct. in Junction City.

Bennett was transported to Geary County Hospital with a a gunshot to the leg and later transferred to Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.

Junction City police, the Geary County Sheriff's Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol were at the scene within minutes and encourage anyone that may have information on this incident contact the police department at 785-762-5912 or call Crime Stoppers at 785-762-TIPS (8477).
