GEARY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- The search was on Tuesday night for a speeding motorcyclist along a major roadway in Geary County, clocked going nearly 120 miles per hour.

Geary County Undersheriff Brad Clark says a sheriff’s deputy tried to pull the motorcycle over on US 77 around 4:45 PM south of Interstate 70 for going too fast but the driver did not stop.

Deputies and troopers chased the motorcycle along US 77 but the pursuit ended near Milford when the motorcyclist managed to get away.

Police combed the area, patrolling streets and neighborhoods off of US 77 in search of the runaway motorcycle.

Authorities say their investigation into the dangerous speeding incident continues. No other details were released.
