MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Fort Riley soldier was arrested at his Manhattan apartment after his girlfriend told police he abused her and threatened her life.

On Monday, September 17, 2012, a 25-year-old woman, who is not being identified, reported several different cases of domestic abuse to Riley County police.

She says on September 9, 2012, her boyfriend, 25-year-old Goldie Woods (assigned to HHC 2-34 Armor Battalion at Fort Riley), threatened her with a rifle and strangled her to the point of unconsciousness at their apartment on Seaton Avenue in Manhattan. When she tried to call the police, she says Woods took the phone away from her and also attempted to burn her to death. Officials would not say how. The incident is being investigated as an Aggravated Battery, Criminal Threat, Criminal Restraint and Intimidation of a Witness or Victim.

In two separate incidents on September 17, 2012, the victim alleges that Woods closed a door on her foot during a verbal argument and beat her in their home.

Woods was arrested for Domestic Battery stemming from his girlfriend’s allegations on September 17th. The September 9th incident remains under investigation. He is out of jail on bond.

Woods, meanwhile, tells police that he is the victim of a recent theft. He says sometime between September 14, 2012 at 1 PM and September 17th, 2012 at 8 AM, “a person known to him” stole four guns and two machetes from a locked box at his apartment. Police officials say the cases are related but would not elaborate further due to privacy issues.

On September 18, 2012, Woods reported that his girlfriend, armed with a gun, threatened to kill him. The domestic incident is being investigated as an aggravated assault.
