MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Manhattan man is in trouble with the law after police say he was caught at a hotel with an underage, missing girl.
Jonathan Cargal, 18, was arrested Wednesday at 2 PM at the Motel 6 on Tuttle Creek Boulevard for two counts of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child, two counts of Unlawful Voluntary Sexual Relations (consensual sex with a juvenile between the ages of 14-16), Contributing to the Misconduct of a Child and Possession of Marijuana.
Riley County police say they were following up on a missing juvenile case after being contacted by the victim’s parents and their investigation led them to the hotel. According to investigators, Cargal was engaged in sex with the young girl at the location and was found with drugs.
He was taken into custody and booked into the Pottawatomie County Jail. The missing juvenile was released back into the custody of her parents.
