MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A prostitution case in Manhattan had a bizarre twist when police say the suspect ended up calling them out of fear.

On April 24, 2013 between midnight and 2 AM, Riley County police say 23-year-old Justin Williams, a homeless man from Manhattan, was staying at his friend's trailer at the Red Bud Estates on Farm Bureau Road and hired a prostitute for $400 from backpage.com.

After they had sex, officials say Williams did not have the money to pay the woman and was scared that there would be some sort of retaliation against him so he called the cops.

The incident remains under investigation. Both Williams and the alleged prostitute, 19-year-old Sharon Polk from Topeka, are listed as suspects in the case.
