TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The man convicted of killing a Topeka business owner will spend just over nine years behind bars.
23-year-old Jesus Daniel Valadez-Soto was sentenced Friday to 109 months in prison. He pleaded guilty in December to reckless second degree murder for the death of 75-year-old Hugo Jimenez, Sr.
Jimenez was shot and killed in October 2012 outside the bus business he owned at SE 2nd and Quincy.
Soto also was ordered to pay more than $20,000 restitution.
