MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat says a 64-year-old man was attacked in Manhattan and robbed of his lunch box.
A press release sent out Tuesday states: "The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office and the Riley County Police Department are investigating a reported strong armed robbery that occurred on Sunday, August 19th, 2012. The alleged incident happened in the vicinity of 101 East Bluemont Avenue, Manhattan around sunset. The victim, a 64-year-old male, reported being battered by a male suspect. The victim alleged the male suspect took his blue soft sided lunch bag. The bag contained a pocket knife, tobacco and some change (coins). The victim was taken to a Manhattan hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries. The only description given of the suspect is a male, possibly 25-30 years old."
