TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The man who sold the illegal drugs that led to a teen's overdose death will spend four years behind bars.
Ryan Thompson was sentenced today to 49 months in prison. He pleaded no contest earlier this year to reckless involuntary manslaughter for the death of 18-year-old Zachary Arnold.
Arnold died in May 2007, but Thompson wasn't arrested until this past May.
In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dropped additional charges including possessing narcotics with intent to sell.
