Lawrence PD Investigates Bank Robbery

The following is a news release from the Lawrence Police Dept.:

On September 5, 2013 at 1:19pm officers from the Lawrence Police Department responded to the report of a robbery at US Bank, 1807 West 23rd Street.

Employees reported a lone suspect entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding cash. The clerk complied and passed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. He then left the bank and was last seen running southwest from the scene.

He was described as a black male, approximately 40 years of age, 6’3” tall with a thin build and having a mustache.

At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a camouflage fishing hat, a dark pullover shirt and plaid pajama style loose fitting pants.

No weapon was displayed during the incident and no one was injured.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified and responded to the scene to assist.
