TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A preliminary hearing got underway Thursday for a Topeka firefighter charged with four felony counts, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The charges against Claude Clark stem from a February incident. He also faces one count of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated intimidation of a witness
Shawnee County District Court records show that during Thursday's proceedings, a key witness asserted a fifth amendment privilege to not incriminate oneself. The record shows the state is offering the witness immunity.
The court will take up the issue when the hearing continues August 28th.
