TECUMSEH, Kan. (AP) - Shawnee County authorities say the death of a Tecumseh couple last week likely was a murder-suicide.
The county sheriff's office says in a news release that an investigation indicated Andrew Jackson Jr., 57, shot his estranged wife, Carolyn R. Jackson, 52, and then shot himself. Their bodies were found in their home last Tuesday.
Shawnee County Court records show Carolyn filed for divorce March 19, and filed a restraining order against Andrew that day.
The sheriff is waiting for reports from the county coroner before making a final ruling.
