MITCHELL COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) -- A police officer is facing DUI charges after being arrested earlier this week in north central Kansas.
Just before 8 p.m. Monday, a Mitchell County sheriff's deputy stopped a car at U.S. Highway 24 and 190th Road. The deputy recognized the driver as a Beloit police officer and called for a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper to assist.
The trooper arrived and arrested the driver for DUI and transporting an open container. He's been identified as Beloit Police Sergeant Shelby Lamb.
Once the KHP finishes their investigation, the report will be turned over to the county attorney for possible charges.
