Kansas Law Enforcement Agencies Receive Large Grants

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Large amounts of grant money will help Kansas agencies cut into its backlog of DNA testing.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is set to receive nearly $320,000 from the National Justice Institute and the Justice Department's Office of Justice Programs.

Johnson County will receive more than $247,000 as well.

The grants are aimed at reducing the size of the mountain of DNA testing requests and turnaround time for samples as the demand for DNA testing continues to grow.
