KANSAS CITY, MO (WIBW) -- A Kansas City, Mo., police officer was shot as he and other officers tried to capture a fugitive on Thursday, according to KCTV. The fugitive, who barricaded himself inside a home, was also shot, authorities told them.
KCTV reported the officer, a 15-year veteran of the force, was shot in the leg and is expected to recover.
The suspect suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound. Police did not tell KCTV whether the man was shot by an officer or shot himself.
The incident reportedly began around 11:00 a.m. when tactical officers tried serving a Platte Co. warrant. Officers finally entered the home approximately two hours later.
