LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ A Kansas judge says prosecutors can use at trial a police interview with the father of two children found bound in a Walmart parking lot.
Adolfo Gomez and his wife, Deborah Gomez, of Northlake, Ill., were arrested in Lawrence in June after police found two children tied up in the parking lot. They've pleaded not guilty to child abuse and child endangerment charges.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports (http://bit.ly/QLch4V ) a Douglas County judge on Friday denied a motion to suppress the interview police conducted with Adolfo Gomez an hour after police Tasered him in the parking lot. His lawyer wanted the interview tossed because of Gomez's mental state at the time.
The judge says however that she'll allow the interview at Gomez's Nov. 5 trial.
Deborah Gomez's trial is Oct. 20.
