LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) -- The KU Public Safety Office is trying to track sown a man accused of sexual battery in a campus parking lot early Saturday morning.

The reported victim told campus officials she asked the suspect to give her a ride home from a party in the area of 31st and Louisiana around 2:00 a.m.

Instead of taking her home, she said the man drove to the parking lot behind JRP Hall on campus where she was battered.

The suspect was described as a light skinned black or hispanic man with short hair. The vehicle was a red 4-door with cloth seats.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 785-864-8888 or the KU Public Safety Office at 785-864-5900.

  • Don't ask strangers for rides

  • Use Saferide and Safebus
