KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ Kansas City, Kan., police have released the name of a man killed in a shooting and the suspect who committed suicide during a police standoff.
Police said Monday that 27-year-old Gabriel Valedivia was the person whose body was discovered Thursday outside a home. While responding to the homicide, police were told that a possible suspect was in a nearby home.
After a more than seven hour standoff, police went inside the home and found the suspect dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Michael Brothers.
Both men were Kansas City, Kan., residents.
