KINGMAN, Kan. (WIBW) - A former Kansas lawman has been found guilty of first degree murder.
Brett Seacat was also convicted of aggravated arson and two counts of child endangerment.
Seacat was charged with killing his wife Vashti in April 2011 before setting their home on fire. His two young sons were sleeping inside the home at the time of the fire, but did make it out safe.
Prosecutors believe Seacat killed his wife 16 days after she filed for divorce.
The jury deliberated for about six hours before reaching the guilty verdict.
