JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Junction City detectives are looking into an incident involving a two-year-old boy after the child was taken to the hospital with a fractured leg.

Around 9:20 PM on Monday, November 12, 2012, officers were called to a home on West 4th Street in Junction City, where the injured toddler had fallen down the steps, investigators said.

The child was taken by ambulance to Geary Community Hospital and later airlifted to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for care.

Sergeant Trish Giordano, a detective with the Junction City Police Department, said an investigation was conducted into the incident and it was determined that the baby's broken leg was not consistent with child abuse. The injury was consistent with the fall he took, she told WIBW.

On Friday, she said the toddler was "doing well."
