Joint Task Force Busts 3 In JC Drug Raid

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- On August 2, 2013, the Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group, assisted by the Junction City/Geary County SWAT, executed a search warrant at 810 W. 11th Apartment #1 in Junction City. The search warrant was obtained after a month long investigation by the Drug Operations Group into suspected drug activity at the residence.

The following people were arrested:

Michael G. Manahan, age 24, of Junction City. He was charged with Sale of Marijuana within 1000' of a School, Sale of Narcotic Drugs within 1000' of a School, Conspiracy to Sell Marijuana, Narcotics, and Synthetic Cannabinoids within 1000' of a School, Unlawful use of a Telecommunications Device, Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute within 1000' of a School, Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Distribute within 1000' of a School, Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids with Intent to Distribute within 1000' of a School, Acquisition of Drug Proceeds, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Christine N. Manahan, age 24, of Junction City. She was charged with Sale of Marijuana within 1000' of a School, Sale of Narcotic Drugs within 1000' of a School, Conspiracy to Sell Marijuana, Narcotics, and Synthetic Cannabinoids within 1000' of a School, Unlawful use of a Telecommunications Device, Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute within 1000' of a School, Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Distribute within 1000' of a School, Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids with Intent to Distribute within 1000' of a School, Acquisition of Drug Proceeds, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Ryann S. Akers, age 23, of Junction City. He was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All three were confined at the Geary County Detention Center pending his first appearance in the Geary County District Court.

The Drug Operations Group seized marijuana, narcotic pills, synthetic cannabinoids, currency, drug paraphernalia, electronic equipment, jewelry, a handgun, and a 2006 Audi vehicle.

The Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group is a joint task force composed of members of the Junction City Police Department, Geary County Sheriff's Department, and Grandview Plaza Police Department.
