Homeless Man Beaten In Manhattan

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police say a fight between two homeless men in Manhattan resulted in one of the men being sent to the hospital.

At 7:15 PM on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, officers were called to a beating in the 700 block of South 4th Street.

Michael Townley, 30, says he was attacked with a blunt object by one of his friends. Townley was left with a severe laceration to his head.

He was transported by Riley County EMS to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan for treatment.

The case is under investigation as an Aggravated Battery.
