High Court Upholds Mossman, Cameron Sentences
TOPEKA -- The Kansas Supreme Court on Friday upheld two decisions made in Shawnee County Court regarding two inmates and the issue of sexual acts with minors.
The high court upheld sentences imposed on James Mossman and Andray Cameron.
Mossman pleaded no contest to taking aggravated indecent liberties with a child, following sexual relations he had with a 15-year old in December 2008, while Cameron pleaded guilty to 3 charges of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child after sexual relations he had with a 12-year old child.
Attorneys for both men argued lifetime supervision and being to register as sex offenders for the rest lives constitutes "cruel and unusual punishment."
The Supreme Court agreed with the judge's rulings.
