TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A December 31st preliminary hearing is set for a woman accused in her daughter-in-law's murder.
The date was set at a court appearance Thursday for Manuela Alcala. She's charged with first degree felony murder and conspiracy in the October death of 34-year-old Ashley Alcala.
Ashley's husband, Manuel Alcala, is also charged. His prelim is set for November 27th.
Two other suspects, Manuel's brother Gabino Alcala and Benjamin Anaya, remain jailed in Texas. Prosecutors are working to bring them back to Shawnee County.
