Fourth Suspect Arrested In Topeka West Murder

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A fourth arrest has been made in the murder outside of Topeka West High School last October.

Samantha Carroll, 21, was arrested around 1p.m. Wednesday in the 3100 block of southeast Humboldt on first degree murder and intimidation of a witness charges.

Topeka Police tell us she is the 4th and final arrest in the case and that through evidence and recent information they were able to make the arrest on Carroll.

Samantha Hochard, another suspect in the case, pleaded guilty to soliciting 1st degree murder and aggravated battery Tuesday.

Hochard, Coty Newman and Austin Tabor were already charged in the death of 20 year old Matthew Mitchell last October.

Police told 13 News Wednesday that Carroll was a friend of the three previously charged.

Prosecutors believe those three used drugs to lure Mitchell to the school grounds.
