Feds Still Considering Morris Co. Burning Case

(WIBW) - It is still unknown whether the case of a Council Grove man being set on fire will be classified a federal hate crime.

U.S. Attorney's Office spokesperson Jim Cross says their office is still considering the case against Isaac Wilson. Wilson is accused of using rubbing alcohol and a cigarette lighter to set 54-year-old Sterling Law on fire last October.

Law suffered burns to his hands, face and stomach.

Asked Monday whether this will be a federal case, Cross said he could not comment.

Right now, Wilson is set for a state trial in Morris County beginning June 25th.
