MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Police say three men who tried to boldly walk out the front door at a Manhattan Target store with a cart full of stolen electronics were stopped by employees.
Around 4 PM on Saturday, August 18, 2012, police were contacted by workers about a shoplifting incident.
Officials say three men entered the store and filled a cart with four televisions and nine DVD players and tried to leave without paying for the items.
An employee recognized one of the men as being involved in previous thefts at the business and the men were stopped by workers but managed to get away, leaving the cart behind.
Police say there have been three separate shoplifting incidents at Target in the past several months that could be connected where the suspect or suspects filled a cart up with electronics and simply walked out the front door. Workers later discovered the store was missing products during an inventory check and spotted the thefts on surveillance cameras.
The cases remain under investigation by the Riley County Police Department.
