Drug Dog Leads To Arrest During Manhattan Traffic Stop

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police say a routine traffic stop turned into a drug bust in Manhattan Wednesday night.

Philip Krites, 28, of Kansas City, KS, was stopped in the 700 block of Vattier Street around 9 PM on January 2, 2013. Officials say a drug-sniffing dog was brought to the scene and led to Krites arrest for Possession of Methamphetamine as well as Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (felony and misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. According to police, a .22 caliber gun was discovered in his car as well as the drugs.

Reports indicated that Krites was confined in the Riley County Jail Thursday on $6,000.
