RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Several people have been arrested on drug charges in separate busts in Manhattan and along Interstate 70 in Geary County.
On Wednesday, July 24th, 2013, at 1 AM, the Riley County Police Department received a report of "suspicious people" at a residence near the intersection of Casement Road and Northfield Road and when officers responded to the area, they came into contact with two people on foot near that location.
An on-scene investigation led to the duo's arrest.
Crystal Anderson, 31, of Wamego, was arrested for Possession of Opiates, Opium or Narcotic Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driver's License in a Canceled, Suspended or Revoked state. Her bond was set at $5,500 and as of Wednesday morning, she remained confined in the Riley County Jail.
Harold Mumpower, 24, of Wamego, was arrested for Sale or Distribution of Marijuana, Possession of Opiates, Opium or Narcotic Drugs, Unlawful Possession of a Hallucinogen, Possession of Paraphernalia to Grow or Distribute Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bond was set at $12,000 and as of Wednesday morning, he remained confined in the Riley County Jail.
At the same time Wednesday morning, deputies with the Geary County Sheriff's Department conducted a traffic stop on I-70 near mile marker 294.
Further investigation into the stop led to the arrest of Keelie Wilson, Austin Morales, and Frank Saunders, of Kansas City, Missouri.
All three were charged with Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and No Drug Tax Stamp. Additionally, Morales was charged with driving limitations on controlled access highways, and Unlawful use of a driver’s license.
No other details about the drug busts were released.
