Deputies Say Two Men Caught Breaking Into Shawnee Co. Building

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two men are behind bars, accused of breaking into a Shawnee County maintenance building.

Around noon Wednesday, the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was checking a county maintenance building in the 6400 block of SW Auburn Road and saw a suspicious vehicle.

The deputy investigated and found 52-year-old Gerald Ellis and 53- year-old Edward Odell allegedly trying to steal items from inside the building.

Both were booked into jail for burglary and attempted theft.
