TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The man who police say killed two Topeka Police officers suffered three bullet wounds.
That information is from the autopsy report on David Tiscareno. The Shawnee County Coroner's office released it to 13 News Tuesday afternoon.
The report shows Tiscareno died of a gunshot wound to the chest. Two other shots hit him in the right shoulder and right hand.
The report shows he also suffered bite and claw marks, consistent with a canine, but they did not contribute to his death.
The autopsy report also confirms what authorities previously released during their investigation - that Tiscareno had methamphetamine in his system.
Police say Tiscareno shot and killed Officer Jeff Atherly and Corporal David Gogian the evening of December 16th in the parking lot of the Dillons store at Huntoon and Lane. He then fled.
He was killed the following morning, after a standoff with authorities. The Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office investigative report says a total of 9 shot were fired at Tiscareno.
