MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Vandals have left thousands of dollars worth of damage behind in Manhattan after police say a BB gun was used to shoot out windows of cars and homes.

Over the past two weekends, a long string of shattered windows were reported throughout the Little Apple, particularly in the northwest part of town. Police continue receiving reports of damage.

Officials say a BB gun was used to break 33 car windows and windows of three homes.

Multiple reports of damaged cars were reported along Leavenworth Street, Plymouth Road, Cedar Crest Drive and North 16th Street, among others.

The homes that were damaged were located on College Heights Road, Woodoak Court and Dickens Avenue.

The crimes are being investigated as Criminal Damage to Property and they are all believed to be connected.

No injuries were reported.

According to police, the suspect or suspects are aiming at the back windshields of cars and driver side windows. Some body damage has been reported in instances where the side of the car was struck instead of the window.

Front windows were shot out at the homes that were targeted.

An RCPD spokesman says there are indications that a vehicle was used to transport the suspect or suspects as they took aim at one car after another. He says there's also evidence that they could be on foot.
