(WIBW) - Two brothers will spend time behind bars for attempting to steal copper wire from Lyon-Coffey Electric Cooperative.
26-year old Jordan Castrejon and 19-year old Brandon Castrejon were each sentenced to nine months.
On December 11th, 2011, police pulled over a vehicle driven by a third person that contained suspicious materials. When checking businesses, they found the two brothers running through the Lyon-Coffey electric yard.
investigators learned the two made a business of stealing metal and selling it for scrap. Both were on probation for a January burglary conviction in Missouri at the time of the incident.
