Authorities Ask Tree Trim, Roof Repair Victims To Come Forward
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Topeka Police Department announced Thursday they are searching for anyone who believes they may be a victim of a tree trimming and roof repair scam.
Police say the scam was mostly targeted towards the elderly population of Topeka.
Spokesperson Kristen Veverka said in a news release, "If you or someone you know was solicited for tree trimming or roof repair services, and charged an exorbitant amount of money for little or no work, we would encourage you to contact Detective Jack Sanders at 368-9508 as soon as possible to report this information."
